As charging infrastructure continues to expand, reliable and traceable calibration is becoming increasingly important – not only in laboratories, but directly in the field, where charging processes actually take place. That is why the Czech Metrology Institute (CMI) has selected and purchased the comemso Easy Chester Calimera for the calibration of AC and DC charging stations on site.
As the national authority responsible for metrology and calibration in the Czech Republic, CMI plays a key role in ensuring measurement accuracy, compliance and trust in the market. With its decision to invest in a mobile calibration solution from comemso, CMI is strengthening its ability to verify charging infrastructure directly at the point of use.
The challenge: reliable calibration directly at the charging station
For public and commercial charging infrastructure, accurate energy measurement is essential. Operators, authorities and end users all rely on charging stations to measure energy correctly, bill transparently and comply with relevant regulations. CMI was looking for a solution that could support precise and traceable calibration of both AC and DC charging stations in real-world conditions. In addition to measurement performance, the institute required a practical field setup that could be used efficiently by its experts during on-site verification.
The solution: Calimera integrated into CMI’s own service vehicle
CMI chose comemso based on the complete solution package – from technical performance and measurement capabilities to support, integration and training. As part of the project, CMI opted for the Easy Chester Calimera with full vehicle integration into its own service vehicle. This created a fully mobile calibration setup that enables CMI to perform on-site verification of charging stations directly in the field.
The cooperation was carried out in several steps. In December 2025, the comemso team visited CMI in Prague to demonstrate the Calimera system using the comemso demo vehicle. The presentation gave additional CMI colleagues and international partners the opportunity to experience the system in operation.
Afterwards, CMI provided its own service vehicle to comemso. Our team then professionally integrated the Calimera system into the vehicle, creating a dedicated mobile calibration platform tailored to CMI’s operational needs. In February 2026, CMI picked up the fully equipped vehicle at comemso. As part of the handover, we conducted a system training session together before CMI drove the vehicle back to Prague that same day – ready for on-site use.
The close exchange with the experts from CMI was a valuable part of the project, and we are proud to support a leading national metrology institute in advancing reliable charging infrastructure calibration.
