Eight typical starting points
Without JavaScript: these examples explain the selection. Application paths remain directly accessible.
Design & engineering (SECC development)
Develop and test the charging communication of an EVCC or SECC.
EVCA ComOnly (CCS / ASIA / MCS): For EVCC/SECC communication and supported low-level signal development without connected charging power.
EVCA Interop: An alternative direction if you also want to investigate real charging pairs inline alongside EVCC/SECC signal tests. Simulation runs without a connected load circuit.
ComOnly and the ComOnly simulation modes of Interop do not replace a power test bench. Tests with charging power require a different setup.
Design & engineering (EVCC development)
Develop and test the charging communication of an EVCC or SECC.
EVCA ComOnly (CCS / ASIA / MCS): For EVCC/SECC communication and supported low-level signal development without connected charging power.
EVCA Interop: An alternative direction if you also want to investigate real charging pairs inline alongside EVCC/SECC signal tests. Simulation runs without a connected load circuit.
ComOnly and the ComOnly simulation modes of Interop do not replace a power test bench. Tests with charging power require a different setup.
Interoperability
A real vehicle and a real charging station do not charge reliably together.
EVCA Interop: For investigating a real EV/EVSE charging pair. Communication and configured electrical measurements remain linked to the same charging session.
EVCA Multi Mobile: For mobile measurements on a real charging pair and simulated charging partners. Source or load equipment for power tests is specified separately.
Both real charging partners remain connected for capture. EVCA Interop cannot connect a load circuit for power simulation; Multi Mobile requires a separate source/load for this.
Standard conformance & robustness
Investigate standards-related test cases and robustness at the required test depth.
Communication controllers, mobile setups, integrated power benches and MCS are different test setups. Agree the required scope first.
A communication test does not automatically cover all electrical requirements. A validation applies only to its stated system and test scope.
Installation, commissioning & safety
Check charging function and electrical protective measures during installation, commissioning or periodic inspection.
Easy Chester Ultimate: For AC and DC charging stations: test and document charging function and electrical protective measures in a guided workflow.
Micro is intended for AC. Ultimate supports AC/DC according to configuration. This selection describes functional and safety tests, not a complete charging-station conformance assessment.
Calibration and metrology in the field
Calibrate charging points on site and document measurement conditions.
Easy Chester Calimera: For on-site charging-point calibration with a matched load, reference measurement and documented operating points.
Calibration capability, laboratory accreditation and legal recognition are separate statements. Efficiency measurements require additional measurement hardware.
Manufacturing
Test charging stations repeatably in production and retain attributable results.
Easy Chester EOL (HPC): For repeatable tests at the end of charging-station production. Interfaces, cycle time and documentation are matched to the line.
EVCA Flex: Another option when custom tests in comframe and a correspondingly integrated test bench are required.
This shortlist does not replace a review of your specific configuration. Interfaces, options and the released software version determine test scope.
Models & algorithms
Apply defined cell and sensor states for repeatable BMS tests.
Battery Cell Simulator (BCS): For a real BMS: apply defined cell voltages and configured sensor signals and compare them with the recorded BMS response.
A BCS tests the battery management system, not the electrochemical cell. Enclosure size alone defines neither channel count nor fault functions; plan power supply and the safety concept separately.
